PANEL ONE: JIM looks into the mirror in his bathroom, standing there in his wet pajamas.
JIM (narr):
I couldn’t help feeling like a failure. If I’m so smart, why was I still wetting the bed like a stupid baby?
PANEL TWO: JIM imagines all the guys standing there with him, all of them with diaper bulges in their pants.
JIM (narr):
Craig and the guys always made me feel a bit better, and I mean, they were all in diapers or rubber pants!
PANEL THREE: JIM thinks about his problem while in the shower.
JIM (narr):
I supposed the one thing I could do was ask my parents for diapers. At least I’d keep the bed dry even if it meant I was nothing but a big diaper baby.
PANEL FOUR: JIM talking with his parents while having breakfast with them. They’re both listening; his mom with a loving smile on her face and his dad with an encouraging smile.
JIM (narr):
I asked them for diapers. It was embarrassing, but I did it.
PANEL FIVE: MOM smiles and speaks as if she hasn’t heard Jim at all!
JIM (narr):
But I wasn’t prepared for what Mom said:
MOM:
Oh, honey! You don’t need diapers! You’re too smart for those! Once your body matures it’ll catch up with that busy brain of yours!
PANEL SIX: JIM sits at the table, stunned, as MOM clears the plates.
JIM (narr):
I couldn’t believe it! Mom was in complete denial! Was I doomed to wake up soaked forever?
