PAGE THIRTY-FIVE

PANEL ONE: MIKE is sitting at his desk in school. He looks stressed, trying to concentrate but can’t.

NARR:
That whole day in school I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I had wet my pants and messed them, and my Dad knew, and Lucas was actually bullying me. And something in me was responding to it!

PANEL TWO: After school, MIKE is walking home through a park. There is a playground, with kids playing. LUCAS is approaching MIKE from the side.

NARR:
Up til now, only he, my Dad, and the guys knew I was having big accidents. But Lucas caught up with me on the way home from school.

PANEL THREE: LUCAS leans in to MIKE and whispers. MIKE looks shocked.

NARR:
We were walking through the park in my neighborhood. There were tons of kids there. Lucas stopped me and said:

LUCAS:
Wet your pants. Right here in public.

MIKE:
W-what?

PANEL FOUR: A close-up on LUCAS’ face, grinning evilly at us. He knows he can make MIKE do anything.

LUCAS:
You heard me.

PANEL FIVE: MIKE looks around, fearfully, at the kids playing in the background.

MIKE:
But…but everyone will see.

LUCAS:
That’s right. They will.

PANEL SIX: MIKE closes his eyes, his hands balled up into fists. It looks like he’s going to do it, but LUCAS puts a hand on his chest to stop him.

LUCAS:
Wait.
